In 2000-01 GSA sent a substantial grant to the Child-to-Child Trust, a charity based in Winneba in the Central Region. The grant was to support schools near Winneba, Nima and the Afram Plains.

ABURUMAN SECONDARY SCHOOL
Aburuman Secondary School is in Abura-Dunkwa in the Central Region. In 2000-01 the school received a GSA grant to enable it to purchase books and typewriters.
YELWOKO SCHOOL
This school near Bawku in the Upper Eastern Region received a GSA grant in 2000-01 for books and to pay examination fees.
HAVILAH VILLAGE LIBRARY
Havilah is in the Central Region. A substantial grant from GSA was sent in 2000-01 to help the construction of this village library, named after Nana Kwa Budu III. It was followed by a second grant for the same project in 2001-02.
AHEMFIE JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL
Ahemfie JSS is in Kraboa-Coaltar in the Eastern Region. A letter of acknowledgement of the GSA grant was received in 1994, as follows:
“I am writing on behalf of the Chief, his Elders and the Education Development Committee of Kraboa-Coaltar acknowledging the receipt of 35 bags of Portland cement, 3 packets of roofing sheets, of 20 sheets per packet, and a quantity of nails from Mr. Kofi Ohene [GSA representative in Ghana, ed.].
Mr. Ohene explained that the items were bought with an amount of 500,000.00 cedis by your Organization. The Ghana School Aid donated to help us build a Carpentry Workshop for our Junior Secondary School.
I wish to express our profound gratitude for the donation and promise firmly that the materials will be used for the project earmarked.

AHMADIYYA PRIMARY SCHOOL
Ahmadiyya Primary School is in Asokere-Ashanti. In 1992-3 a GSA grant helped rehabilitate a three-classroom block. Blocks for the construction of dwarf walls were purchased, as well as cement and sand for screeding the three classrooms.
HOLY TRINITY PRIMARY SCHOOL
Holy Trinity Primary School is in Asokore-Ashanti, south-east of Kumasi. In 1992-3 a GSA grant enabled the school to roof a three-classroom block.
LEGON PRIMARY & JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS
In 1992-3 a GSA grant to these schools enabled the purchase of a video recorder and tapes, an FM microphone, diskettes for a computer, a fire extinguisher and a merry-go-round.
AHWERASE-AKUAPIM JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL
In 1992-3 the school received a GSA grant to help the construction of a JSS Workshop. The money was used to buy 3 packets of aluminium roofing sheets, iron rods, 20 bags of cement and 3 trips of sand.
WEST AFRICA SECONDARY SCHOOL
In 1992-93 a GSA grant was awarded to purchase bookshelves and material for the school library. A second grant was sent in 2001-02 for the purchase of a photocopying machine.
